Music Review: Drake’s Take Care

After much anticipation and battling with sample rights, the Young Money Cash Money headliner, Drake, has released his sophomore album, “Take Care”.

A mellow transition from the epic debut album, ” Thank Me Later”, Drake’s sophomore album evokes many emotions that  many of today’s rappers cannot duplicate. With bars that ride the beats like a wave, Drake has done an exceptional job in showing us how he has grown in this album. Many of the tracks on this album have a melodic mesh of blues, RnB and Hip-Hop.

Drake employs many great names including Stevie Wonder, Andre 3000, YMCMB head honcho Lil Wayne, label mate Nicki Minaj, and ex-love Rihanna, yet the features on this album only enhances it. The album’s authenticity comes from Drake’s creativity to add real-life concepts in the album. Where he discusses issues with his father who owes in child support, added voice overs from his grandmother, and speaks about his struggles prior to his success in the rap game.

‘Take Care” is definitely a great album. One day into its album sales, it is creating a serious buzz on twitter.
