Sunday’s (November 20) American Music Awards turned out to be a bang event, with epic performances and an a-list red carpet, but the wins were dominated by the industries dominating divas. Country music star Taylor Swift won big, taking the lead with three wins including Artist of the Year, Favorite Country Music Artist, and Favorite Country Music Album. Nicki Minaj was the runner up, taking home two AMA Awards for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist trumping Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
Minaj also took home the gold for
Favorite Soul/R&B Album(definitely was a hip-pop album). In addition to her memorable wins and epic performance with David Guetta, Nicki Minaj also has made headlines for her Oscar De La Renta gown and Alexander McQueen shoes.
Also Katy Perry was pretty in pink as she represented for the girls with an all pink guitar. Perry took home an special award celebrating her achievement as an artist. She broke the record for female artist to score number one on Billboard 100 hits from “Teenage Dream”.
Our favorite Latina artist, Jennifer Lopez, also took home an award for Favorite Latin Artist. Watch below as these ladies gave epic performances. you may also find the full list of wins provided by Billboard.
